Anglomaniacy

The website anglomaniacy.pl has a lot of sources for teachers. 

There is a special section for songs. You can find traditional songs and Christmas carols. Each song and carol has an online link where you can hear it. There is also a flash movie with the lyrics of it and some pictures about the songs.

To help teaching, they also offer printable pages with colouring pictures, the lyrics, the scores for guitar and piano and different activities to work on the topic.

Voy a aprender inglés

The website voyaprenderingles.com is a Spanish page full of resources for teaching EFL.


Focusing on the blog's main topic, we can fin three types of songs:


- Nursery Songs: Also sorted  into different groups: Rutines, Alphabet, Numbers, Halloween, Seasons, Peace Day... Each group has some songs that have the lyrics and a youtube video.


- Lyrics of famous songs: Usually modern pop songs. Just gives the option of copying the lyrics, there is no way of downloading the songs.


- Christmas Carols: With the lyrics and a video of each one of the songs.

Genkienglish

The website Genkienglish.net/songs.htm is a great source for teachers.


It has lots of TPR songs. Each song comes with a link were you can hear it, a flash movie with attractive picture for children, instructions for the basic movements (like in every TPR song), games to work the vocabulary, flashcards,  a lesson plans and printable colouring pages.


It gives you the opportunity to download some of the songs and to buy the whole CD.




The website recommends to work with a "three step plan":
1) Teach the new words.

2) Teach the song "a capella" (no music)

3) Introduce the Genki music on the CD

But it's not just singing. Each song has gestures or actions to make them even better. Click the song titles to the left to see the lesson plans.

The website members.tripod.com/~rosemck1/kids-corner.html has about 60 songs to sing like a karaoke.

The music sounds without voice and the children have the lyrics to follow and sing the song.

You can download the songs to your computer.

There are lots of famous songs: popular songs, disney songs...

BBC Cbeebies

This website: bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/tweenies works with children's songs.


The songs are separated by themes: nature, everyday life, animals and seasons.


Each song has a video and you can download the lyrics.


In each song, you can find the information about its educationals aims.

Free ABC songs & Dreamenglish

Freeabcsongs.com & Dreamenglish.com are two related websites that work with material for the EFL and ESL teaching.

This sites are really interesting because they give the opportunity to download the songs to your computer. Each song comes with the lyrics and, some of them, have a video attached to it.

You can also find all types of chants, rhymes, colouring pages...

The material is divided by topics (christmas, easter, nursery songs...).

Angles 365

This is a page with lots of resources such a games, exercises and songs for English teaching in School.


You can find all the songs in: angles365.com/classroom/songsinf.htm They have a big variety of themes, adapted to the different levels. Each song has a flash movie (.flv) that shows the lyrics.


You can't download the songs, but you can see them for free in the website.


It is a catalan website; but the songs and activities are in English.

British Council's Songs

The British Council's website is a perfect source for all kind of activities in English as a Foreign Language teaching. Focused on the blog's topic, we can find a section just for songs: learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/songs

Each song has a video with it's lyrics on it. The images are really attractive for children. One of the most interesting things of this website is that every song has a ICT game and three or four worksheets working on the topic.


The songs usually work vocabulary like clothing, numbers, colours, jobs... But this page also offers traditional English songs like "Twinkle, Twinkle little star", "Old MacDonald" or "She''ll be coming round the mountain". This helps children to learn more about the English culture.

"We are busy beavers"

Youtube is a website with lots of educational videos that can be used in an EFL teaching.


We would like to highlight the We are busy beavers' channel were you can find videos of different songs that can be used for teaching English.


The teacher can learn the song or can show the video, usually with colorful images. You can download the songs in wearebusybeavers.com (website). In this website, you can also find the lyrics, games, worksheets and other materials to work in class.


They work many topics: Games (ex. "Simon says"), TPR (ex. "Head shoulders knees and toes"), vocabulary songs (ex. "The Alphabet Song")...

The website songsforteaching.com has a lot of songs for teaching English as a Second Language. It offers each song with its' lyrics online.


There is no download option, but you can buy the songs in i-tunes.

There are songs for all the levels and of lots of topics: colours, numbers, clothes, ABC... 
The topics are divided in groups. They are classified by level and subject.
